This year, the Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association (ITASA) has rolled out a new project to engage the Taiwanese American community. “Footprints: Imprints Between Generations,” will be a collaborative and interactive web-based contest that collects reflections of intergenerational relationships between Taiwanese Americans. The contest will engage first to third generations of Taiwanese Americans in submitting visual art, online media, and essays about the personal connections they have with family and friends from another generation.
NATWA II will be partnering with ITASA in sponsoring a Mother-Daughter award for entries that are applicable. The launch date for the project will be January 29, 2011 during the ITASA 2011 East Coast Conference at Princeton University. The entry submission period and subsequent open voting period will be in April and May, with award winners to be announced during Taiwanese American Heritage Week.
